Bongani is involved in all aspects of Employment and Labour Law, predominantly advising and acting on behalf of employers. He has experience in advising employers on dealing with collective and individual labour law and has been involved in major litigation in various labour law dispute resolution tribunals. These included alternative dispute resolution, discrimination litigation relating to race and victimisation, workforce reductions on a large scale, review of arbitration awards and rulings of Commissioners, Arbitrators and Panellists, urgent proceedings including the moving of urgent interdicts for unlawful strikes and violence during lawful strike action and breach of contract.
Bongani worked as a Judge’s Associate for a prominent Judge of the Labour Court of South Africa Johannesburg during from 2009 – 2010. Bongani has also been involved in providing training on various aspects where labour law intersects with business operations. He has authored and supervised a number of articles and case-law alerts and is a consulting editor for an international South African labour Law online publication.
