Zaheer Moosa focuses on commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution with specific emphasis on commercial disputes. He acts on behalf of institutions, corporate entities and companies in various industries including telecommunications, real estate, petroleum, finance, mining and construction. Zaheer is proficient in both application and action proceedings and has experience in various courts and other forums including the High Court, Magistrates Court, Arbitrations and Appeal Courts including the Constitutional Court.

Representative experience:

  • Part of the legal team that represented a major ICT company in an unlawful competition dispute in the High Court.

  • Part of the legal team that represented a major telecommunications company in the Constitutional Court regarding a challenge to the constitutionality of a municipal by-law and policy.

  • Part of the legal team that represented a prominent mining company in an arbitration involving a complex contractual dispute. 

  •  Assisted in advising a foreign company on the legal and regulatory framework applicable to exporting 12 aircraft from South Africa to the foreign country.  

  • Assisted in advising a commercial bank on the interpretation of its Deposit Investment Account Agreement and the consequences of disinvestment.

  • Part of the legal team that represented a major telecommunications company in the High Court in disputes involving its telecommunication mast infrastructure. 

  • Assisted in advising a South African regulatory body on the legal standard required to prove the negligence of an expert/professional. 

  • Part of the legal team that represented an international finance company in the High Court regarding a claim under a structured trade and commodity finance agreement.
