Gugulethu Mthalane has more than 12 years’ experience advising on labour and employment related matters. She provides practical advice in resolving day-to-day disputes, preparing for litigation, and appears on behalf of employers before court and legally constituted tribunals such as the CCMA.
She also acts as a judge in the Labour Court.
She has wide experience across all areas of employment law and the management of labour disputes and strike action, collective bargaining, restructuring and retrenchments, disciplinary and incapacity matters, and policy and employment contract issues including restraints of trade and confidentiality agreements. Gugulethu offers dispute resolution services as well as strategic advice to pre-empt disputes, and she is consulted by several private equity firms to assess and perform due diligence on employment-related risks in mergers and acquisitions.
Gugulethu provides regular updates to employers on developments in employment law, and facilitates training workshops on applying employment laws in the workplace.
