Penny has been specialising in real estate for more than 20 years. She has a particular interest in property development, working closely with property developers, town planners, surveyors, and project managers.

Over the years she has been involved in several new developments in Johannesburg and surrounds. Developments such as Arts on Main, Main Street Life, Revolution House, The Main Change, Rocket Factory and Craftmen's Ship, all situated within the Maboneng District on the east-side of Johannesburg CBD were unique in that they focused on the redevelopement and rejuvenation of the inner city and consisted of residential and mixed-use developments. The precinct has been hailed as a creative take on history, architecture, art and nature, and the epicentre of the Joburg inner-city renaissance.

She also assisted with the re-development project in Vrededorp known as The Exchange, which consisted of over 200 residential units and used to be an old telephone exchange owned by Telkom, which is the reason for the name.
